May 20, 2012

Hey!  This week was awesome!  And sorry that this e-mail might be a little shorter, we are doing things earlier because we are going to Augsburg again today to play some games with the other Elders there, so that will be good.
Anyways, this week was a really great week.  Last Monday, we kind of had a lazy P-Day and didn't do anything because we were both so tired.  So not much to report there.  We did however, have family home evening with the B family.  Which was awesome.  They are so great.  We played Rummikub with them and I was with M, who is 5 and can't really speak German, but is my best friend.
Throughout the week we had two exchanges because Elder M is the District Leader.
Your calculations were correct, transfer calls will be on June 1st.  So they are coming soon.  It seems like it is a long ways away, but it will be here before I know it.  One thing that I am really trying to do as effective as possible is to really just lose myself in the work and do whatever it is required.  Leaving my agenda at the door, and putting the Lord and other first.  Much easier said than done.  Hah!
On Wednesday, we taught M again and made sure that everything was good for his baptism.  We did a lot of contacting trying to find more people, and trying to get in contact with the people who we found on our day of finding.  It was a really good day, and one where even though I was exhausted, it felt good to be a missionary.  We are having another one this Friday which will be great.

Sincerely,

Elder Connor J. Thompson

May 14, 2012

Dear Family,

So Monday was P-Day.  And we had planned to clean a lot since President M was going to be working with us on Thursday from 8:00 to 9:30.  And since our apartment is so small, unless it is really clean, there is no room for three people to sit and study.  Not joking.  So we went and did our P-Day things and then went back home and realized we had forgotten to buy some paper towels.  So we dropped our stuff off and then went out to buy some and then as soon as we shut the door, Elder M asks me if I had the keys.  I didn't.  And neither did he.  So we phoned a member who we thought would have our keys, and he didn't.  But he was getting off of work at 8:00 and could come then and break into our apartment.  So we thought that would be better than having to pay for a locksmith.  Because apparently they are expensive here.  So we realized that we had about 4 hours to wait... and we were in P-Day clothes because we were going to clean and didn't want to get our normal missionary clothes dirty.  So we ran out and bought some snacks, and a book of Sudoku puzzles, and then Mastermind and sat in our apartment hall and waited for him to come back.  It was pretty ridiculous.  Haha!    Finally at 8:00, the member comes to let us in.  Just in time for daily planning.  Haha!  So that was interesting...
On Wednesday, we ended up doing a little bit of cleaning so we would be good for when President M came.  We didn't get to do that on P-Day so well.  But after about an hour, we got our apartment looking really nice.  President M talked about how nice it looked a lot when he came.  We also met again with M and taught him a couple commandments, and he is now ready for his baptism.
Anyways, Thursday was our finding day.  It was awesome.   In the end it was a great day.  The highlight of the day was for sure when we met with E.  At around 14:00 she phoned us and asked if we could meet her at the church and give her a Priesthood Blessing.  She told us she wasn't a member but said we could teach her afterwards too, and that her parents were members, but they didn't live in the area.  We said yes and after a tasty lunch at KFC went to the church and met her.
The rest of the week we didn't do anything particularly special that I can remember.
You all never said if you felt like this time was going really fast.  I think it has been sooo fast!  I can't believe I hit my 11 month mark tomorrow.  Strange.
Thanks for being so great.

May 7, 2012

Hey everyone!  How is everyone doing?  Can you believe it's already May?  Where does the time go?
Things here in Ingolstadt are good.  It's a little bit tough because we just keep working hard and it seems like not a whole lot changes, but we just keep working.
I don't know why, but I can hardly remember what happened this week.  Haha!  On Monday, we all went to Augsburg to play sports.  It ended up being my two 'favourite' sports.  Soccer and Basketball.  Woohoo!  When we played soccer, the teams were pretty even.  But I think that I made the difference for my team with my great skills.  Really I just ran around yelling and screaming and people so they would start laughing because I was so ridiculous and then the people who were really good at soccer could score.  And, on another good note, I only tripped once!  But it was so embarrassing.  I don't think I can do it justice by describing it.  But when we watch it in the movie in heaven.  I will laugh hard.  Haha!  It was a lot of fun to be with the district.  Then we played basketball.  And we all know how much I love that, and how good I am at that.  Haha!  But I did manage to get a granny shot in.  The problem is that it is too easy for people to block those.  I am sure Dad is proud of my athleticism there.  Haha!
On Tuesday, we had a District Meeting, which was really good.  Then we came back and did more contacting.  Pretty much all of our time is contacting, which after a while, is not so fun.
I feel bad for saying this, but the rest of the days not a lot of neat thing happened.  Just a lot of contacting.  Elder M and I are still getting along really good, so it's really good.
