May 14, 2012

Dear Family,

So Monday was P-Day.  And we had planned to clean a lot since President M was going to be working with us on Thursday from 8:00 to 9:30.  And since our apartment is so small, unless it is really clean, there is no room for three people to sit and study.  Not joking.  So we went and did our P-Day things and then went back home and realized we had forgotten to buy some paper towels.  So we dropped our stuff off and then went out to buy some and then as soon as we shut the door, Elder M asks me if I had the keys.  I didn't.  And neither did he.  So we phoned a member who we thought would have our keys, and he didn't.  But he was getting off of work at 8:00 and could come then and break into our apartment.  So we thought that would be better than having to pay for a locksmith.  Because apparently they are expensive here.  So we realized that we had about 4 hours to wait... and we were in P-Day clothes because we were going to clean and didn't want to get our normal missionary clothes dirty.  So we ran out and bought some snacks, and a book of Sudoku puzzles, and then Mastermind and sat in our apartment hall and waited for him to come back.  It was pretty ridiculous.  Haha!    Finally at 8:00, the member comes to let us in.  Just in time for daily planning.  Haha!  So that was interesting...
On Wednesday, we ended up doing a little bit of cleaning so we would be good for when President M came.  We didn't get to do that on P-Day so well.  But after about an hour, we got our apartment looking really nice.  President M talked about how nice it looked a lot when he came.  We also met again with M and taught him a couple commandments, and he is now ready for his baptism.
Anyways, Thursday was our finding day.  It was awesome.   In the end it was a great day.  The highlight of the day was for sure when we met with E.  At around 14:00 she phoned us and asked if we could meet her at the church and give her a Priesthood Blessing.  She told us she wasn't a member but said we could teach her afterwards too, and that her parents were members, but they didn't live in the area.  We said yes and after a tasty lunch at KFC went to the church and met her.
The rest of the week we didn't do anything particularly special that I can remember.
You all never said if you felt like this time was going really fast.  I think it has been sooo fast!  I can't believe I hit my 11 month mark tomorrow.  Strange.
Thanks for being so great.

Sincerely,

Elder Connor J. Thompson
