This week was good. Even though we finally got
snow. It wasn't until January 11th. How crazy is that?
Luckily, it hasn't been too cold, and we have had quite a bit to do in the past
week so it's been nice, although I will be pretty happy when Spring comes,
always wearing a big winter coat is not cool. And no matter what, they
don't look nice. On the bright side people don't give us as many funny
looks, but on the downside nobody can see our sweet ties. Hah!
On Monday for P-Day we got suits, and it was good. The
suit itself was pretty cheap. But I feel like it is better quality than
the one I got from Mr. Mac. It was 58€. Which I think is pretty
cheap. I think that's part of the reason why Europeans always dress a
little nicer. The other reason is that, that is all they spend their
money on. Clothes. It's kind of crazy. Afterwards we went to
supper with the W family.
On Tuesday, we had a good district meeting where a Ward Mission Leader was
there and we talked about what we would like to see the members do more. We also visited K and O. We then
found out that O is in the hospital and probably will be for the next three
weeks until she has her baby. We
went two times (maybe three) last week and she was so happy. We
also had an exchange and I was able to work with Elder M which was a lot
of fun. I love missionary exchanges. It's sort of like a nerdy
Sleepover that Spencer, Jordan and I would have, except we don't stay up all
night and play computer. Instead we just talk a lot. Always a lot
of fun.
On Wednesday, not a whole lot happened. We had a ward
council which was really great. I don't know if I have said this before,
but I love the ward here. They are just so great. I think we will
for sure be visiting once again in Ludwigsburg if we come here. Also, I
don't know how possible this would be, but do you know if we could find out where
Grandpa lived in Ludwigsburg? There are a lot of older buildings here and it
would be neat to go to. A couple have offered to try and help me figure
out, and I will maybe talk to the Geneology person about it. Just
something cool to think about.
On Thursday, not a whole lot happened. We did meet
with the G family. They are less active, and their kids are not
members, and so we are trying to work with them a little more.
On Sunday, it was a crazy day. A group of Theology
Students from a nearby Evangelisch (I think that is just a Protestant church? I
don't even know how to translate it) school came to church. They had
contacted the Bishop beforehand, and so it was just a strange Sunday because
everyone wanted everything to be really great. So some people were a
little stressed. But it went well. We talked with them a little bit
and were able to answer some questions that they had, and hopefully they will
think more about it. One of them took a Book of Mormon with her, so that
would be great if something happened, but I think when you are studying
religion at a religious school, you probably aren't too open for other things,
but we will see.
I am doing really good. Things are good. I am
happy and healthy. Thanks for your e-mails and support. I really
love you guys so much. Say hi to everyone for me!

Sincerely,
Elder Thompson
